Chase Macri is a musician, writer and workaholic who writes about St. Louis independent music.
Chase has played guitar for over 15 years and has been in bands for over 10 starting out with a pop punk band while he was in high school. Currently Chase plays for Jack Buck, a St. Louis-based metallic noise rock band, who has caused quite a stir in the midwest with their 7″ release “Ugly”. Chase creates music on the independent level and has a passion for artists that choose to do the same.
On top of writing about independent music on his blog, ChaseMacri.com, Chase has written for other music publications as well. He has contributed profiles of St. Louis bands to the bi-monthly Eleven Magazine and has written about metal and hardcore music for Crustcake.com and InvisibleOranges.com. Aggressive music has embodied the do-it-yourself ethos since its inception which is directly in line with the music which Chase relates.
Personally, Chase is a caring, sensitive, extrovert with a strong moral framework who cares about helping others. He is an action-oriented person who is the first to volunteer his skills to solve a problem. He feels most comfortable being allowed to complete a task autonomously, but can always be depended on to get it done. These traits also make him a loyal friend.
Chase seeks to celebrate that which is excellent in art and culture. Aside from music, he loves auteur film, locally roasted coffee, troubleshooting computers, running, and professional sports. He hopes that his sharing of excellence keeps you coming back to ChaseMacri.com in the future.
