“Yeah, of course baby. Why do you ask?” I replied.
“I don't know. It just seems so far away…”
“I know it does. It's just that right now I'm busy doing ________ and I don't want to be married and be away all the time. I mean, what's the point of being married if we can't be together?”
“Yeah, I see what you mean. It's just that I prayed, and prayed, and prayed for this day to come, and I don't want our lives to pass us by. I want us to experience it with you. You know, that we're in this together whether we're apart or not. I want a family, and I don't want to be old when I get to finally have that. I won't wait forever.”
“I know, baby and I'm sorry. Look, we're nineteen right now. Give it a couple years, then I'll be done doing ________ and we can settle down, and have that family we both want. We won't be old then.”
“Nineteen? Chase, I'm forty-seven!”
